Worksop Priory C of E Primary

Hello and Welcome to Worksop Priory Academy.

I took up my post as Head Teacher of Worksop Priory Church of England Aided Primary Academy, in September 2011. Our Academy continues a long history of education supported by the Church in this area for over four centuries.

Since its opening, Priory Academy has always enjoyed a close partnership with the Priory Church. Indeed I count us as most fortunate having such a dedicated, supportive and hard working Governing Body, many of whom are members of the Priory Church congregation.

Our aim at Priory is to try to ensure all children enjoy their learning and achieve their individual potential. To this end, staff maintain high expectations of pupils at all times and all aspects of the Every Child Matters Agenda are at the forefront of our thinking and fully integrated into the Academy’s curriculum planning. The curriculum is both challenging and exciting with a great many enhanced learning opportunities in the form of hands on experiences, visits and visitors to enrich the children’s understanding and broaden their knowledge.

Over the years there have been a number of additions and alterations to the building all of which are designed to make it an improved teaching and learning environment for our pupils.

I do hope you will enjoy our exciting web site and finding out more about the Academy. Please ring for an appointment to have a look around and capture the warm, welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Though the photographs are superb they do not do full justice to the actual teaching and learning environment.

I feel very privileged to be part of the Priory community and look forward continuing to work with a dedicated staff team, supportive governors and parents but most importantly with our wonderful pupils.

Safeguarding Statement of Intent

At Worksop Priory Academy we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We believe every pupil should be able to participate in all Academy activities in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from harm. This is the responsibility of every adult employed by, or invited to deliver services at, Priory Academy. We recognise our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our pupils by protecting them from physical, sexual or emotional abuse, neglect and bullying.

Welcome from the Academy Captains

We would like to introduce Eve and Jamie, our new Academy Captains. They have many responsibilities around the Academy and represent us at various events.
